How we use your data

We build Sleigh the List so you can plan, buy and wrap every gift in one place. To keep the app useful, we may also look at anonymous, combined gift trends, for example counting how many people added a LEGO set or a stocking stuffer this season.

When we do this:

  • We look at totals, not people. Trends are counts across everyone's lists combined. We don't attach names, gift notes, photos, links or hiding spots to a trend, and we don't use them to build a profile about you or anyone in your family.
  • Small groups are left out. If a trend would only come from a handful of lists, we don't count it or report it.
  • We use it to make things for you. We may use these trends to write our own seasonal gift guides and lists, and to decide what to build next.
  • We may share anonymous trends with partners. For example, a brand might ask what kinds of gifts were popular this season. We would share numbers and themes only, never your name, your contact details, or anything from your list that could be traced back to you or your family.

We never sell your personal information, and we don't share your list with other people, brands or partners.

What we store

Your account email (or Google sign-in), the people you add, your gifts and their details (status, cost, links, notes, hiding spots), your budget and holiday settings, and any photos you attach. Photos are kept in private storage that only your account can open. You may add children's names to your list. We suggest first names or nicknames only, and we only use them to show you your own lists.

Services that help us run the app

A few services handle your data on our behalf:

  • Hosting and database: your account and lists are stored on Lovable Cloud, which runs on Supabase.
  • AI features: when you choose to scan a photo, a screenshot of an order, a list to Santa, or a shop link, the image or the text from that page is sent to an AI service (through Lovable's AI gateway) so it can suggest gift names and prices. Nothing is sent unless you choose to use one of these features. Suggestions are only saved if you confirm them.
  • Shop links: when you paste a link, our server fetches that public page to read the title and price. To check the link is safe, we look up its domain name through Cloudflare's public DNS service.
  • Email: sign-in and account emails are sent through our email provider.

Emails

We send account emails you need, like confirming your address or resetting a password. Marketing emails (best-selling gifts, ideas and product updates, once or twice a season) are optional. The box is unticked by default, and you can turn them on or off any time in Settings.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information until you delete it or delete your account. You can delete individual gifts and people any time. To delete everything, go to Settings and choose Delete account. That removes your people, gifts, photos and login for good.
